Buried around 900 CE, the Hoard brings together a stunning variety of objects and materials in one discovery. "A fabulous opportunity" The hoard falls under the Scottish common law of treasure trove and was held by the Queen's and Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer. The law entitles the finder to a reward related to the market value of the items discovered. The Church of Scotland filed a legal action against McLennan.
